Tank for Arch Manning? Browns owner could be focusing on 2027 NFL Draft for future QB

'Tanking' is a term Browns fans have become all too familiar with since the team returned in 1999.

But what if the tank job this time was for Texas quarterback Arch Manning? The legendary Manning family has ties to Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam.

Uncle Peyton played for Tennessee Universtiy, where the Haslam family are big boosters. Jimmy's had a close relationship with the Manning's for years.

ESPN Cleveland Browns analyst Tony Grossi believes ownership could decide to punt on a long-term solution at quarterback for next season, and look ahead to 2027.

Grossi confirms that it is a real possibility for this organization to be in tank mode once again, "I think the year will start, Arch Manning will be Heisman No. 1 odds on favorite, and he'll have a good year, proving to everyone he's ready." He continued, "and who's going to be looking for a quarterback? Jimmy Haslam."

After a disappointing beginning to his sophomore campaign, Arch found his groove. He led the Longhorns to a 10-3 overall record, and won the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Eve against Michigan 41-27.

If that momentum carries through to next season then Manning would certainly be among the top QB prospects ready to be drafted.

So start thinking of your Arch Manning themed tank slogans Browns faithful. How about "The March for Arch" or "Planning for Manning"?
