Barring any setback, Kenny Dillingham could have the services of his best receiver in time to face Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Jordyn Tyson could be a good to start this game.
Set as a game time decision, if Tyson has no issues during the pregame warmups, he will be cleared for the game. Tyson has been sidelined since October 18th with a hamstring injury.
In the seven games he’s played for Arizona State in 2025, he has amassed 628 yards and eight touchdowns. As far as averages go, he averages over 10 yards per reception, 90 yards per game and over a touchdown per game. Viewed as a possible first round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, getting him back for this Colorado game should be welcomed good news for Sun Devil fans.
According to the NCAA, Colorado ranks as the 56th best team against the pass. In 2025, Colorado has given up almost 210 yards per game through the air. Giving up an alarming 13 yards per completion. They have also given up 16 passing touchdowns this season. Tyson, if available, should be welcomed good news for an ASU team that has faced some inconsistencies this year.
Tyson returns to Boulder after being deemed 'unwanted'
This is also a homecoming of sorts for Tyson. He was a Colorado recruit and player prior to the arrival of Deion Sanders in Boulder. Tyson was the leading receiver on the now infamous 1-11 Buffaloes team that Sanders inherited. In 2022, Tyson led the team in receiving with 22 receptions, 470 yards, 4 touchdowns and an impressive 21.4 yards per reception average.
Tyson was one of the many players that left Boulder after Sanders’ noteworthy “I’m bringing my luggage and its Louis” speech. According to Sports Illustrated, upon Sanders’ arrival, Tyson was basically told “you’re not wanted here”.
In the time that has passed, Sanders has put Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr, and LaJohntay Wester in the NFL, but the trajectory of ASU and CU are headed in different directions. Arizona State still has life in the Big 12 Standings but needs help from losses to Houston, Utah and BYU. Colorado is hoping to win at least one of the next two or face the worst win total in Sanders’ Colorado tenure. Colorado will be without top cornerback DJ McKinney; Mekari Vickers is also listed as questionable.
Arizona State is in Boulder to take on the Colorado Buffaloes later today. That game kicks off at 8:00pm ET and will broadcast on ESPN2.
