An outstanding hitter capable of doubling as an elite starting pitcher, no shortage of superlatives have been used to describe Shohei Ohtani's remarkable two-way talents by fans and experts alike.
"Boring", however, is perhaps the last adjective one would associate with the 31-year-old.
As NPB veteran Kensuke Kondoh jokingly explained during an interview with popular Japanese sports newspaper "Sports Hochi" on Saturday, though, Ohtani's baseball-centered lifestyle and commitment to constantly work on his game makes him somewhat fit that description.
