American blogger and columnist Perez Hilton recently shared his reaction after American actor Harrison Ford called out President Donald Trump for his lack of policies to combat the climate crisis. Over the weekend, the 83-year-old veteran star spoke out against the US president to The Guardian and lamented the politician as the greatest “criminal in history.”

Making a rare political statement, Harrison Ford told The Guardian:

“[Trump] doesn’t have any policies, he has whims. It scares the s**t out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”

In the interview published on Friday, October 31, 2025, the Star Wars actor strongly disapproved of the 79-year-old politician’s stance on climate change and added:

“It’s unbelievable. I don’t know of a greater criminal in history.”

After the Indiana Jones actor criticised the Trump administration, Perez Hilton shared his thoughts in a blog. On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the media personality quipped:

“Harrison isn’t typically one to make such loud political statements, so this marks a sharp stance from him.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has reportedly withdrawn the US from the Paris climate deal. Last month, the 47th president of the United States, during a speech to the United Nations, said that climate change was “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.”

Donald Trump also warned other countries to get away from the “green scam“, addind, “You need strong borders and traditional energy sources if you are going to be great again.” He pressed other countries for their climate policies, including the UK, to demolish its “ugly” wind turbines and instead do more oil drilling.

While speaking to The Guardian, Harrison Ford also branded Donald Trump a liar and said:

“He’s losing ground because everything he says is a lie… I’m confident we can mitigate against [climate change], that we can buy time to change behaviors, to create new technologies, to concentrate more fully on implementation of those policies.

Meanwhile, in his second term, President Donald Trump and his administration have reportedly been denying scientific evidence of climate change. They are seemingly dismantling climate and clean protections, ceased clean energy projects, laid off many scientists, urged oil and gas companies to “drill, baby, drill” for the fossil fuels, as well as barred the mention of “climate change” and “emissions” within government.

Notably, the veteran actor, who has been a longtime climate advocate himself, had to be evacuated from the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. However, his home in Brentwood was spared destruction. Speaking of the climate-related disasters, Harrison Ford said:

“I knew it was coming, I have been preaching this stuff for 30 years… Everything we’ve said about climate change has come true. Why is that not sufficient that it alarms people that they change behaviors? Because of the entrenched status quo.”

For the unversed, the US is reportedly the second-largest carbon polluter. The country also lags in the efforts to cut down on planet-heating emissions.

Meanwhile, the rising global temperatures has reportedly been wreaking havoc with disasters such as Hurricane Melissa and the LA fires.
