The tennis community has come together to mourn the death of popular Australian sports reporter Duncan McKenzie-McHarg, with Serena Williams' former coach Rennae Stubbs, Priscilla Hon and more sharing their sadness over his unexpected passing.
On December 17, McKenzie-McHarg passed away at the age of 41 after falling from a building in Los Angeles. Given that he was a regular fixture at the Australian Open and other Grand Slam events, having interviewed the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Alex de Minaur, McKenzie-McHarg's death rocked the tennis community.
After Tennis Australia shared a touching tribute for Duncan McKenzie-McHarg on Instagram, Rennae Stubbs, Thanasi Kokkinakis, and former player Todd Woodbridge expressed how "shattered" they were by his untimely demise.
"😢😢😢shattered," Stubbs commented. "❤️🙏🏻," Kokkinakis posted. "💔😢," Woodbridge shared.Maya Joint, Kimberly Birrell, and Priscilla Hon also shared their devastation over the tragic news.
"😢😢," Joint commented. "💔 we’ll miss him so much," Birrell wrote. "No way 💔😞," Hon posted.
Rennae Stubbs, Thanasi Kokkinakis and others' Instagram commentsFormer Australian player Casey Dellaqua shared an important message about checking in with friends and family, alongside a picture of Duncan McKenzie-McHarg with Aryna Sabalenka. Stubbs echoed Dellaqua's sentiments.
"Call your family and friends and check in with them," Dellacqua shared. "Check on your friends 💔," Stubbs posted.

"Congrats @carlitosalcarazz …i expect to see that Brooklyn Bridge tattooed on your body in Australia," she posted on Instagram.Alcaraz recently unveiled his new ink, showing off a design that combined the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Stubbs was thrilled that the World No. 1 had kept his word and shared her excitement to reunite with him at the 2026 Australian Open.
"A man of his word! See you soon," she posted on her Instagram story.
