Austin Reaves has been one of the biggest positives for the LA Lakers early in their season. His strong performances, particularly in the absence of LeBron James and Luka Doncic, have earned him a lot of praise. With Reaves gaining more attention on social media, old clips of him have started to resurface.

One of these videos shows Reaves during a pre-draft workout with the Indiana Pacers. In the clip, he’s answering questions about his draft combine and workouts while wearing an Indiana practice shirt.

As the video made its way around online, fans couldn’t help but comment on how strange it looked to see Reaves wearing another team’s gear.

Austin Reaves ended up going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Pacers used their three picks on Chris Duarte, Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Georgios Kalaitzakis at 13th, 54th, and 60th overall. The Lakers, with only the 22nd pick, selected Isaiah Jackson. Later on, they signed Reaves to a two-way contract.

Analyst makes bold claim about Austin Reaves having a better season than LeBron James

Austin Reaves has been stepping up impressively in the absence of LeBron James and Luka Doncic. While many believe that his successful run will be short-lived, Chandler Parsons believes Reaves’ success is only the beginning, potentially finishing the campaign with a better stat line than James’.

“At the end of the season, I think Austin Reaves' numbers will be better than LeBron James' numbers," Parsons said on 'Run It Back.' "How many minutes is LeBron James gonna play, how many games is LeBron James gonna play? I mean, this guy's gonna be - knock on wood - hopefully, consistent all season.”

Right now, Reaves is averaging 34.2 points, 10.0 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game. Those stats are expected to come down once LeBron returns to regular action after recovering from sciatica.

When that happens, it will be interesting to see how JJ Redick manages the Lakers’ offense with all three, James, Doncic, and Reaves, sharing the floor.
