Sam Leavitt has been in the spotlight for the Arizona State Sun Devils ahead of their Week 10 clash against Iowa State on Saturday. The ASU quarterback has been nursing a foot injury and is reportedly not expected to play against the Cyclones.

BREAKING: Sam Leavitt is expected to miss Arizona State's rematch against Iowa State due to injury, sources tell me and @mzenitz.

Leavitt was knocked from ASU's game against Houston on Saturday on two separate occasions. He took a knock once in the first half and then in the fourth quarter. However, Leavitt did not return after his second knock and had a limp when he exited.

After the game, Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham said Leavitt's injury was likely a tweak of the same foot or ankle injury that forced him to sit out against Utah earlier this season.

"Sam got re-tweaked there at the end," Dillingham said. "He got tweaked at the beginning and we sent him in to get some imaging. He wanted to go right back in, and I said, 'No, you're going to get imaging before you go back in, don't care how you feel.' Then he came back. Then at the end, he tweaked himself again, so we held him out."

Jeff Sims replaced Leavitt when he left the field. Sims is expected to get the start against Iowa State in Week 10.

Sam Leavitt has looked solid for Arizona State this season. The Sun Devils QB has completed 60.7% of his passes for 1,628 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 300 yards and five touchdowns running the ball.

Unfortunately for the Sun Devils, they won't be able to call upon Leavitt's services against Iowa State due to his foot injury.

Arizona State won the Big 12 title last season, but it appears that the team might not be able to win back-to-back conference titles after three losses this season.
