“He is quite open” - Denis Puric says Takeru’s lack of defense will be his undoing

Bosnian-Canadian veteran ‘The Bosnian Menace’ Denis Puric is set to face Japanese striking sensation and former K-1 champion 'Natural Born Krusher' Takeru Segawa in a flyweight kickboxing clash.

The elite strikers go to war at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Sunday, November 16, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Though Puric is coming in as the underdog, given Takeru’s immense fanbase in Tokyo, the experienced veteran says he has discovered lapses in ‘Natural Born Krusher’s defenses that he plans to exploit. He believes those weaknesses will lead to a decisive finish in front of Takeru’s hometown crowd.

Puric explained how he plans to capitalize on Takeru's aggression, that often leaves the Japanese fighter open to counters.

‘The Bosnian Menace’ told ONE Championship:

"I just need to land a nice shot, and I think he's going to be wobbled, at least to the point where I can finish the fight. He's not the kind of fighter who goes in there and protects himself. He is quite open. I see openings, man. I see openings, and I see myself landing a left hook and putting him down."

A victory for Puric here could catapult him in the flyweight kickboxing world championship pecking order. The belt currently belongs to none other than ‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek.
