Eric Hosmer is one of the most important players in the history of the Kansas City Royals.
He didn't stick around long enough or accumulate enough counting stats to ever be considered for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, though.
But on Monday, he got a cool honor. The popular social media account representing the MLB Hall of Pretty Good elected Hosmer with 88% of an Instagram vote.
To be eligible for that hall, players have to end their career with less than 35 WAR and not have won an MVP or a Cy Young.
Hosmer fit the bill.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 draft was one of the key members of the Royals' crop of up-and-comers that built all the way up into the 2015 World Series champs.

He made an All-Star team, won the MVP of that All-Star Game, took home four Gold Gloves and claimed a Silver Slugger.
Hosmer played his first seven seasons in Kansas City and batted .284 with 206 doubles, 127 homers, a .342 OBP and a .439 slugging percentage to go along with solid speed and great defense.
Hosmer went on to play five seasons with the Padres, then a season apiece with Boston and the Cubs.
His numbers declined after he left Kansas City, and he's now out of the game.
That doesn't negate the contributions he made to a historic turnaround in Kansas City to eventually claim that World Series title.
And on Monday, he got some fun recognition that reminds baseball fans everywhere that yeah, Eric Hosmer was pretty darn good.
