Angel Reese has been a target of fake quotes attributed to her in the hate campaign against her since she arrived in the league, and she finally spoke. Most recently, one of her fake quotes about making $1400 in seven days made rounds on the internet, which garnered 100K likes and over 10K comments.

Over time, fans on social media have also attributed manufactured quotes to Reese about the CBA negotiations. One of the quotes that seemed true to many fans had Reese saying that the WNBA players deserved salaries like NBA players.

While Angel Reese has tried to warn fans and even clarify that some of the quotes weren't from her, the power of social media has gone out of control. On Friday, "I talk hoops" posted a compilation of fake quotes attributed to Reese, attracting a response from the Chicago Sky star.

"Rent really be DUE. Can’t believe everything you read," Reese wrote in her repost.

Angel Reese has largely kept herself aloof from all the misinformation that has been spread on social media against her. However, there is no denying that the overall perception of a player in this age is largely constructed by social media, and Reese's image has certainly suffered.

DiJonai Carrington showers praise on Angel Reese after historic Victoria's Secret

Angel Reese made history when she walked for Victoria's Secret earlier this month. She became the first ever athlete to walk for the lingerie brand, and many across the WNBA disapproved the the Chicago Sky star's move.

However, there were other stars in the league who loved the bold move from Reese and hyped her up. Most recently, Minnesota Lynx star DiJonai Carrington showered praise on Reese for carving out a new path for the next generation of WNBA players with her bold move.

Carrington appeared on ESPN's Women+Sports Summit on Thursday and credited Reese for risking her career for the next generation.

"That was a risk for Angel Reese to take," Carrington said. "She's a basketball player, that’s not all she is, but to walk the runway with millions of people, that's a risk. You're putting yourself out there, but she's doing it for the next generation so that they can say, 'Oh, she did that. Now, I can dream of anything!'"

Reese's idea of a basketball player hasn't been the one limited to the basketball court. She has previously expressed her desire to fulfil her dreams of making a mark in fashion, and it seems like she is already halfway there.
