Red Sox get terrible Garrett Crochet injury recovery update

1 hour ago 3

The Boston Red Sox are 24-33 in the regular season so far, and in last place in the American League East. Things aren't going well, and it's not like things are getting better.

Roman Anthony is still out due to injury, and he had a setback recently that will cause him to miss even more time. But what about Garrett Crochet, who's also hurt and has been out for a while?

Well, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, the update on Crochet from manager Chad Tracy is not a good one at all, as just like Anthony, Crochet has suffered a setback in his recovery, and will continue to be out for a while longer.

Red Sox get terrible Garrett Crochet setback injury update

"Garrett Crochet has had a setback, Chad Tracy says," Cotillo reports. "Lat tightness popped up in the last few days, and they are halting his progression for now. He won't throw a live BP Tuesday as expected."

Crochet, who last pitched on April 25 against the Baltimore Orioles, had a successful live bullpen session previously, and this one, set for Tuesday, June 2, was set to be the next step in his recovery.

But, he has some lat tightness which is going to keep him out for a while longer. This is a tough setback for the Red Sox, especially since they really could use him back in the rotation.

MORERoman Anthony mightve been overhyped for Red Sox

The vibes were high with Crochet amid his recovery after his previous bullpen session, but a few days ahead of this one, the Red Sox got some tough news on Crochet.

Crochet landed on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation and has been steadily working his way back this May. But, this setback right before the calendar turns over to June means that Crochet is now going to miss well over a month on the IL.

This is another setback for the Red Sox, the first being with Anthony, and now Crochet has suffered a setback and will miss even more time. Times are tough for the Red Sox, and these updates are not what the team needs right now at all.
