Ranking last-second Drake London fantasy replacements if Falcons WR is inactive

2 hours ago 2

The Atlanta Falcons have listed wide receiver Drake London as questionable for the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

While the expectation has been that London would play, there is now some concern about his status after the Falcons elevated a wide receiver from the practice squad ahead of kickoff on Monday night.

As we wait for a definitive answer, which will come when the Falcons release their list of inactives at around 6:45 p.m. ET, fantasy football owners should have a contingency plan in place in the event London isn't active.

Here are some last-second options to consider, ranked from best to worst.

Ranking last-minute Drake London replacements

1. Rams RB Blake Corum

Corum's availability is going to depend on the depth of your league. He might still be available in some 10-team leagues, but is likely already owned in bigger formats.

Your ability to start him on Monday night will also depend upon if you made the wise decision to put London in your flex spot just in case he does get ruled out tonight. If not, this potential option won't be for you.

Corum is the Rams' No. 2 back behind Kyren Williams, but he has been seeing a lot of work since Week 7 with Los Angeles trying to keep Williams fresh.

In that span, Corum ranks as RB35 overall, which is very good for a backup rusher. He has been particularly great over the last four weeks, ranking as RB8 overall since then.

When it comes to potential last-second options for London, Corum is going to be the best of the bunch, although he's the least likely of this group to be available.

2. Rams TE Colby Parkinson

Like Corum, Parkinson's availability will depend upon how deep your league is, and your ability to start him depends upon if you have London in the flex.

Parkinson threw up a 2/21/0 dud last week, but in the six weeks prior he ranked as TE4 overall on the strength of six touchdowns in that span.

Parkinson's production is dependent on a touchdown, but he has been the second-most consistent player on this list of late, thus he's the second-best option.

3. Falcons WR Darnell Mooney

Mooney had one of his best seasons as a pro in 2024 with 992 yards and five scores, but things have gone very differently for him this season.

Not only has he missed multiple games due to injury, but Mooney hasn't been very effective when on the field, tallying just 27 catches for 388 yards and one score through 13 games.

That said, Mooney will be operating as the Falcons' No. 1 wide receiver if London is ruled out, and the potential for volume which makes him an attractive option on short notice.

He is far from a guarantee, but Mooney is better than nobody in London's place.

4. Falcons WR David Sills

Sills did nothing last week, but he did post six catches for 78 yards the week prior when London was out and has seen consistent snaps throughout the season, so we know he's going to be on the field.

We would expect to see more out of Sills this week if London is ruled out, as he showed a fantastic connection with quarterback Kirk Cousins in Week 15.

5. Rams backup WRs

The Rams are highly unlikely to have Davante Adams this week, as the veteran wideout is doubtful to play. That opens the door for one of the team's backup receivers to step into a bigger role, but who that will be remains to be seen.

Last week when Adams was out, Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield stepped up, with Smith tallying two catches for 57 yards and Mumpfield posting three receptions for 40 yards.

But then there's more experienced options like Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington, although Whittington has been extremely disappointing this season, even when Adams and Puka Nacua have been out.

Atwell hasn't had a pulse since he posted two strong showings in Weeks 4 and 5, and he has played just 12 snaps combined the last two weeks.

Truth be told, depending on a Rams wideout not named Nacua or Adams is the last position you want to be in. But if that's where you find yourself, Smith and Mumpfield are the better "what have you done for me lately" options.
