Rams trade rumors on Davante Adams squashed by ESPN insider

The Los Angeles Rams are going all-in this offseason to capitalize on what's likely the final year of Matthew Stafford's Hall of Fame NFL career.

They've already added Trent McDuffie in a blockbuster trade and signed Jaylen Watson to help out the cornerback room. Now, the only thing the Rams could use is a third wide receiver. Amid such a need, the Rams have been linked to one interesting trade.

Davante Adams has had his name pop up in trade rumors recently. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter on The Pat McAfee Show completely squashed both rumors.

"The Rams aren't trading Davante Adams," Schefter said. "They just paid him a $6 million roster bonus on Sunday."

It was a quick shutdown of the Adams trade rumors, which began to pick up steam in the last few days after rumors broke that the Rams had interest in a trade for A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the Rams seemingly interested in Brown, moving on from Adams would have made some sense. But that no longer looks to be possible for the Rams.

Los Angeles just gave Adams a $6 million bonus for being on the roster by a certain date, which has essentially cemented that the Rams are not going to be trading him this offseason.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to trade Adams anyway, as the Rams are going all-in, and moving on from a player like Adams wouldn't help such a cause, even if they added Brown.

The Rams are likely to head into 2026 with Stafford at quarterback, Kyren Williams and Blake Corum splitting the workload at running back, and Adams and Puka Nacua leading the wide receiver room.

While the Rams might take a WR in the NFL Draft to be a third WR, and a long-term solution to Adams, who's hitting free agency after 2026, the Rams do not look poised to move on from either Nacua or Adams before the 2026 season.
