Phil Mickelson has often been successful in creating a stir with his repeated attacks on Democrats, especially on Gavin Newsom. For months, fans on X (previously Twitter) saw the veteran professional golfer throw jibes at the Governor of California.

Newsom was recently aiming to increase Democratic congressional seats through Proposition 50. On Tuesday, voters from California showed their support and helped the State form its independent redistricting commission. In the press conference, Newsom celebrated this win and also threw some shade at US President Donald Trump.

"I’m proud, but I’m very mindful and sober of the moment we are living in. Donald Trump does not believe in fair and free elections. Period. Full stop."

After this clip of Newsom's statement was shared on X by Kevin Dalton, it quickly caught the eye of Phil Mickelson. The LIV golfer, being a huge supporter of the Trump administration, threw a hilarious dig towards the Governor of California. In the comments, Mickelson criticised Newsom over his usage of "period" and "full stop" together.

"Out of all delirious things he says, why does “period. Full stop” bother me more than all of it ?🤦‍♂️"

A few weeks ago, Phil Mickelson accused Gavin Newsom of putting the US military bases at risk through his policies regarding fuel and energy. According to the golfer's claim via an X post, the California Governor depends on Russian Sovcomflot and Chinese COSCO tankers. Besides explaining how it's a violation of the US oil sanctions, Mickelson labelled Newsom's energy policies as a "national threat".

"What the actual F?" - When Phil Mickelson slammed Gavin Newsom over the latter's claims regarding clean fuel

Amidst Mickelson's claims, Newsom shared an update on his X account on October 29. In his post, the politician claimed that the usage of clean fuel has impacted California. According to Newsom's post, there was a 300% increase in the use of clean aviation fuel, and 80% decrease in "dirty" diesel. The Democrat wrote:

"One year ago this week, California made history in pushing toward clean, sustainable aviation fuel. The result? Clean fuels are taking flight in the Golden State..."

Phil Mickelson did not mind slamming the California Governor over his remarks. The six-time major champ reposted Newsom's tweet and questioned the latter's energy policies. He also labelled the policies as "National Security risks". Mickelson wrote:

"Your energy policies have created one of the most serious National Security risks that the US is facing. What the actual F?"

Apart from criticising Newsom on X, Mickelson did not shy away from offering the latter a chance for public confrontation. Till now, the golfer has challenged Newsom twice for a town hall debate, regarding the longstanding Sable Offshore Corp versus California Coastal Commission issue and the latter's claim on "Trump's America".
