Novak Djokovic's wife Jelena and Caroline Wozniacki delightedly reacted to Lindsey Vonn confirming her qualification for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. The prestigious sporting event, which is also popularly being referred to as Milano Cortina 2026, is set to mark Vonn's fifth and final Olympics appearance.
On Tuesday, December 23, Vonn, the American alpine ski racer who clinched the gold medal after winning the downhill event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, took to Instagram and shared a post. Through the post, she laid bare her optimism about the opportunity to represent the USA for the fifth and final time at the Olympics, writing:
"OLYMPICS, HERE WE COME!! 🇺🇸⛷️I have officially qualified for the Olympics in Cortina!!! @teamusa ♥️ I am honored to be able to represent my country one more time, in my 5th and final Olympics!"The 41-year-old went on to reflect on the five-year retirement she came out of in late 2024 and how that decision was motivated by her desire to feature at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She also promised to give her best to have as much of a chance as possible to secure what would be her fourth Olympic medal.
"Although I can’t guarantee any outcomes, I can guarantee that I will give my absolute best every time l kick out of the starting gate. No matter how these games end up, I feel like I’ve already won. I am grateful for how the season has gone so far, but I am just getting started. See you in Cortina!!," Vonn added.Subsequently, Jelena Djokovic, wife of former World No. 1 men's singles tennis player and 24-time Major champion Novak Djokovic, and Caroline Wozniacki, a former WTA No. 1 and the winner of the 2018 Australian Open women's singles competition, entered the comments section. Both expressed their fervent support for Vonn using positive and encouraging emojis.
