Oilers captain Connor McDavid delivered one of his most dominant performances of the season Tuesday night recording five assists as Edmonton cruised to a 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames at Rogers Place. McDavid factored into all five goals driving Edmonton’s offense in a complete team effort.

Lauren Kyle, the Oilers captain’s wife, was in attendance for the game and shared moments from the night on her Instagram. In her stories, Lauren posted a photo from inside the arena alongside Rachel Gagner, the wife of former Oilers forward Sam Gagner as the two of them were watching the game together from the stands.

“@rachelgagner my girls in town,” Lauren captioned the story followed by a white heart emoji.

Earlier in the evening, Lauren also shared a separate story from a cafe posting a photo of iced coffee drinks and tagging Rachel Gagner, indicating the pair spent time together in Edmonton before heading to the arena.

On the ice, Leon Draisaitl led Edmonton’s scoring with a hat trick while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman added the remaining goals. All five tallies were set up by McDavid whose playmaking dictated the pace throughout the night.

Connor McDavid’s wife set to launch new Canada-themed collection

Earlier this month, Lauren Kyle revealed plans to expand her Sports Club Atelier brand with a new Canada-themed collection set to launch in January.

Lauren said the idea for the collection came after Hockey Canada approached her following the Four Nations Face-Off earlier this year discussing how national pride and winter sports culture could be integrated into everyday fashion. The result is a heritage-inspired lineup rooted in classic Canadian identity with prices ranging from $47 to $475.

Designed around a traditional red-and-white colour palette, she shared that the collection draws heavily from vintage winter advertising and classic alpine fashion campaigns. Lauren described the creative process as reinterpreting those nostalgic references into modern wearable cold-weather pieces that feel relevant both inside and outside the arena.

“I think anyone who is Canadian finds an identity in cheering for winter sports—cheering for these sports is our culture,” Lauren told ELLE Canada. “Wearing those red and white colours and having something to support is really important to us. Being Canadian, it’s what we’re really good at.”

Key pieces in the drop include a high-neck knit zip-up, a knit puffer, a quilted jacket featuring a winter-sports illustrated lining, an oversized hockey-graphic sweater and an updated version of Sports Club Atelier’s signature leather jacket. Lauren noted that the collection was designed to fill what she sees as a gap in arena fashion.

The launch is timed to coincide with a busy stretch on the international hockey calendar including the World Juniors this month and the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics.
