The New Orleans Saints have gone 5-10 this season, thanks in part to Tyler Shough's breakout and three-game winning streak.

But amid this winning streak has been the production of Taysom Hill, the beloved gadget player for the Saints. While he's not heading towards the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he's already etched himself in NFL history.

As the Pro Football Hall of Fame shared on Twitter/x, Hill, after his impressive Week 16 performance, officially made NFL history as the only player in the Super Bowl era with a trio of 1,000-yard feats; that's something only Hill could do.

Taysom Hill makes NFL history in Super Bowl era only he could accomplish

"(Taysom Hill) became the first player in the Super Bowl era and the fourth player all-time to record at least 1,000 career passing yards, 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards." The Pro Football Hall of Fame shared after Week 16.

Looking back in NFL history, Bob Hoernschemeyer, George Taliaferro, and Charley Trippi were the only other players to record 1,000 career yards passing, rushing, and receiving.

The performance that got Hill this incredible NFL history was a quality one against the New York Jets. Hill passed for 38 yards on a TD pass to Chris Olave, ran for 42 yards on 12 attempts, and caught four passes for 36 receiving yards.

It was a vintage performance from the 35-year-old Hill. So far in his nine-year NFL career, Hill has 2,551 rushing yards with 34 rushing touchdowns, 1,002 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, and 2,426 passing yards and 12 touchdowns.

While he might not be the best player in the NFL, or a superstar like some other players in NFL history, no one since the Super Bowl era began in 1967 has ever recorded 1,000 rushing, receiving, and passing yards.

The record-setting play was a 3rd and 18 checkdown to Hill for a seven-yard gain, which led to a 39-yard field goal. While he didn't set this record in style, Hill helped his team in an underrated way, just like he always has.
