There is a feud brewing between Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green and former NBA big man Kenyon Martin. Green and Martin went back and forth this week, starting with Martin calling the four-time NBA champion soft. Green also fired shots at Martin when he criticized the championship credentials of his former teammate, Nick Young.
On Saturday, Young seemed to have added smoke to the feud as he shared a clip of Green's remarks on Instagram. In the short video, Green called out Martin and his "Gil's Arena" co-host Rasad McCants for "attacking" Young's lone NBA title.
"I know you guys don’t understand what it means to win an NBA championship," Green said. "To win an NBA championship, you have your guys who has to deliver. Me, Steph (Curry) and Klay (Thompson), we had to deliver. And then, you have all your guys who like play a role, what I like to call them is swing players as opposed to role players."•

Green then explained Young's role with the Warriors' 2017-18 championship team.

"So when you go look at our championship run that Nick Young was a part of, Nick Young was the swing player in the Houston series," Green said. "He swung the series for us. Guess what? Job done. When you talk about winning a championship, he swung the series. That's his job as a role player."The clip ended with Green taking a shot at Martin's NBA career:
"It's what the New Jersey Nets needed Kenyon Martin to do. They needed you to swing the series. But you couldn't swing the series so you all lost. Y’all got smacked."Green's comments were part of his lengthy response to Martin calling him a "fake tough guy." In a livestream of "The Arena" on Wednesday, Martin said Green picks his altercations with players who won't reciprocate his dirty plays.
What was Draymond Green's response to Kenyon Martin?
In Friday's episode of "The Draymond Green Show," Draymond Green criticized Kenyon Martin's 15-year NBA career. Martin was drafted as the No. 1 pick in 2000, but was named an All-Star only once. According to Green, it's disappointing for him to have someone with fewer accolades take shots at him.
"When you were the No. 1 pick and effectively underachieved, I guess that would be the reason why," Green said. "To be the No. 1 pick and make the All-Star Game one time, most would say is probably an underachievement, being as I was the 35th pick and made the All-Star Game four times."Martin most notably played for the New Jersey Nets from 2000 until 2004, helping the team reach back-to-back NBA Finals. However, the retired legend did not win a championship.
Meanwhile, Green has helped lead the Golden State Warriors to four championships. This season, he is on a quest to help bring another title to the Bay Area.
