The 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals winded to a close on Sunday, with American Learner Tien lifting the trophy. The No. 1 seed defeated Alexander Blockx in straight sets in the final, prevailing 4-3(7), 4-2, 4-1.
Tien had a rocky start in Jeddah, losing his opener to Rafael Jodar. However, he bounced back quickly, beating Martin Landaluce and Nikolai Kjaer to reach the last-4. There, he beat Nishesh Basavareddy to move into the final against Blockx. On the other hand, Blockx was undefeated in the event coming in, beating Justin Engel, Basavareddy and Dino Prizmic before beating Kjaer in the semifinals.
With the win in Sunday's final, Tien takes home an impressive $502,250. He would have won $37,500 more had he gone unbeaten in the group stage. In addition to a participation fee of $154,000, the American teenage won $116,000 for the semifinal win and $157,250 for triumphing in the final. On the other hand, Blockx will take home a handsome sum of $382,500.
