A popular WWE star has broken character to comment on their relationship with CM Punk backstage. Punk is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Vision's Bron Breakker on the January 5, 2026, episode of WWE RAW.

In an interview with Going Ringside, The Judgment Day star discussed her backstage relationship with CM Punk and AJ Lee. Punk is married to Lee in real life, and the former Divas Champion returned to the promotion earlier this year. Perez shared that she grew up watching Punk and Lee and was excited about the chance to work with them.

“The storylines that they created were some of my favorite to watch growing up. So to now have them there, and for them to just be people that I can turn to whenever I need advice or need help or anything… yeah, they’re just—they’re amazing," she said.

The former champion added that she has a good relationship with both stars backstage.

“Oh, it definitely went well. And I tell them that a lot, where I’m like, ‘Thank you for making that quote ‘never meet your hero’ so untrue,’ because they’re just awesome. They’re just awesome to be around," she added. [H/T: Ringside News]

Injured WWE star sends warning to CM Punk

Seth Rollins sent a warning to CM Punk ahead of his WWE return. The Visionary was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship due to injury earlier this year.

In an interview with ClutchPoints, Rollins suggested that he was still the rightful champion despite having to relinquish it. Seth Rollins warned that he would be going after Punk, or whoever held the World Heavyweight Championship, when he was cleared to return to action.

“The primary [target] in my return will actually not be a person at all, it’ll be a thing. That would be the World Heavyweight Championship because I never lost the title, so I am rightfully the World Heavyweight Champion. I was stripped of that championship, and anybody who [is] in possession of that title, be it CM Punk, be it Bron Breakker, anybody who stands in my way, they will be dealt with," he said. Seth Rollins says he wants to work for the NFL and WWE after his retirement “I wanna be in the booth calling a Bears game and then I wanna be calling the shots in Gorilla in WWE. So, let’s do it all.” (via Bleacher Report)

It will be interesting to see if Bron Breakker can capture the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk next month on WWE RAW.
