"Never start them again", "This is a calamity" - Chelsea fans rip into Blues duo as London side held to 2-2 draw by Qarabag in UCL clash

Chelsea fans are disappointed with two key players after the draw to Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League. Many believe that Tosin Adarabioyo and Jorrel Hato are not good enough to start for the club.

Enzo Maresca's side took the lead through Estevao Willian in the 16th minute, with a superb finish at the near post. Their lead did not last long, as Leandro Andrade equalized just 13 minutes later, with Marko Jankovic giving them the lead 10 minutes later from the spot.

Jorrel Hato was at fault for both goals, failing to defend Duran and then giving away the penalty with a handball. The home side managed to keep hold of their lead until half time, forcing Maresca to make a triple change.

Alejandro Garnacho, one of the changes at the break, managed to equalize within eight minutes of the restart, but that was the final goal of the game.

Chelsea fans were quick to point fingers at Hato and Tosin, with many posting:

Never start Hato and Tosin again.

I love Maressca. But you cannot be treating UCL games like conference league. Starting mistake prone Tosin and HATO as CBs ... Asem oh

Chelsea CBs are very laughable. See Hato and Tosin 😂 They sent Tosin back to Fulham with that feint

Hato + Tosin is a calamity. Neither are sure of themselves in any aspect of defending. They’re just there.

Tosin and Hato are a joke, not in a good way.

Enzo Maresca spoke about Hato and said:

"Jorrel, like the team, started very good and then we started to do some mistakes. We need to improve and avoid. The big difference today was inside the box. They are silly goals to concede. In their box, we have not been clinical enough. This is the big difference for me."

Chelsea have seven points from their four matches in the UEFA Champions League this season. They face Wolverhampton before the international break.

Enzo Maresca comments on Chelsea changes

Enzo Maresca has admitted he wanted to rotate Chelsea players to give the key stars a break. However, he was forced to make a big change at the start of the match as Romeo Lavia came off injured, with Moises Caicedo coming on and said:

"The intention is always because we think the plan with the players is the correct one. Today, we started the right way, scored the goal but then we conceded two, the first one when they had 10 players. We can avoid both goals. In their box, we need to be more clinical." "I think I tried to explain already many times, the intention was to rest Moises, Enzo, Malo, and more players. They are not able to play every three days. The Club World Cup affected a lot. We tried to rotate. When we win, nobody mentions that but when we don't, everyone is focused on that."

Chelsea face Barcelona, Atalanta, Pafos, and Napoli next in the league phase.
