Ja Morant's father walked up to a fan after he criticised the Grizzlies star from the stands. On Sunday, the Grizzlies suffered a 116-112 loss to the Washington Mystics on the road. The Wizards fans were not good towards the visiting team.

One fan recorded a video of himself showering criticism on the Grizzlies star from the sidelines.

"You got your coach fired to be a Play-In team," the fan yelled.

The fan continued to bicker at the Grizzliies star as he ignored the negativity. However, Ja Morant's father had enough. He walked up to the fan to address him and his comments on his son. However, the fan clapped back at him, telling him to sit in his seat. The video went viral on X, and fans swarmed the comments section with their opinions.

"Morant's father should’ve slapped the s**t out this mf," one fan said.

A couple of fans rallied in support of the heckler.

Ja Morant had a decent showing in the loss. He scored 21 points and dished out seven assists while shooting 8 of 16 from the field and 3 of 5 from the 3-point line.

Ja Morant debuted a new celebration in Sunday's loss. The Grizzlies' star made a 3-point bucket from the logo range and turned around with his right arm pointed like a firearm.

Later, he lowered his right arm, using his left one as he transitioned to defend. Morant has a track record when it comes to firearm celebrations in the league. He was fined $75,000 in April for using the imaginary gun celebration.

In 2023, the Grizzlies' star was suspended for a total of 33 games in two suspensions and lost about $8.3 million in salary for showing firearms in live streams of his social media account.
