Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF, made his resurgence to AEW after a brief hiatus in a phenomenal way to close out 2025. Witnessing his remarkable success recently, his former partner might have seemed to tease his own arrival at the Jacksonville-based promotion.

The aforementioned star, who was once MJF's stablemate, is Hammerstone. The Salt of the Earth and Hammerstone were a part of the Dynasty faction in Major League Wrestling years ago. Moreover, they even had a brief reunion at the MLW Fightland show last year.

On the other hand, Friedman shocked the world by winning the AEW World Championship at the Worlds End 2025 pay-per-view. A social media post then went out analyzing free agents All Elite Wrestling could sign, with Hammerstone being mentioned as a potential ally for The Wolf of Wrestling to protect his title reign. The MLW star took notice and dropped an emoji via his X in response, seemingly teasing joining AEW in the future.

MJF offered to put his AEW World Championship on the line outside the promotion

MJF began the new year as the AEW World Champion and also brought back his Triple B version of the title. Furthermore, he has been announced to return to Limitless Wrestling on January 16. Ahead of his appearance, he called out their popular star, Alec Price, and even offered to put his World title on the line against him.

"Will you rise to the occasion? If I hold on to my Triple B until my return to Limitless Wrestling, I will be putting it on the line against you. And let's be honest, I ain't losing this thing for a long, long time because my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I'm better than you, and Alec Price, soon, you'll know it." [H/T WrestlingINC]

With The Salt of the Earth making his way to the independent promotion, it remains to be seen what Alec Price has to say about the challenge laid out.
