Minecraft updates regularly tweak different aspects of the game to keep things fresh and modern. Some of these changes include new features, mobs, etc., while minor improvements are often not noticed immediately like simple UI changes. The recent update has changed the pause menu UI and while some might consider it minimal, many players are not happy with this tweak.
A Minecraft player, u/muscle_man_mike, made a post on the game’s subreddit showing the new pause game menu with a caption stating how much they dislike this new design.
It seems that the original poster is not a fan of minimal design because the new pause menu has oversimplified everything with just three text-based options to resume the game, open Minecraft Marketplace, and save and quit the game.

A plethora of other options such as Advancements, stats, feedback, etc are all moved down to simple icons that can be quite confusing for many players. While the change does make the game look more modern, it also affects the ease of choosing an option by increasing the number of steps needed to do it.
u/HotAge8806 said that the option to browse add-ons is useless and removing the readable settings button was also a wrong step by Mojang Studios. It seemed that other players also were not happy particularly with the “browse add-on” option.
u/HouseOfStone13 said they cannot understand why the developers would replace the settings option with the browse add-ons option. u/HotAge8806 replied saying that perhaps Mojang Studios want to make more money. For those who do not know, add-ons and other in-game items can be bought from the official marketplace.

New changes coming to Minecraft
The nautilus mob will be a part of the upcoming game drop (Image via Mojang Studios)Mojang Studios recently released The Copper Age update that added more copper items such as tools, weapons, chests, armor, and even the copper golem. This was a wonderful change as fans had been asking the developers to do something about this underused metal.
What many players did not expect was the announcement of Mounts of Mayhem game drop that will bring the spear weapon, nautilus mob, zombie horseman, and also the recently announced parched skeleton and camel husk mob. These are wonderful changes that will be coming to Minecraft by the end of the year.
