As the Boston Red Sox look to build on the success of 2025, they continue to be linked with potential moves for Alex Bregman and Ketel Marte. Both players are coming off the back of solid campaigns, wherein they earned an All-Star selection each.

According to former Miami Marlins pitcher A.J. Ramos, Bregman may be the better option for the Red Sox. Speaking to MLB Network Radio on Wednesday, Ramos explained his thoughts.

"You get a guy who's been there before with Alex Bregman," Ramos said. "Ask anybody who played with him last year, how beneficial it was to have him in that locker room. I feel like I would still go with Bregman, just because of familiarity, what he brings.

"In Ketel Marte, I like his skills a bit better than Bregman. He's a top 15 player, I know Bregman's a top 15 (player) as well, but he (Ketel Marte) brings a different type of energy I feel like they can feed off of. It's a close one, but I think I'm going with Bregman over Marte."

"He's a guy that always made sense" - Insider estimates Alex Bregman's chances of re-signing with the Boston Red Sox

With the Red Sox looking to add some power to their lineup, reports claimed the likes of Pete Alonso and Kyle Schwarber may have been higher priorities for the organization, as compared to Alex Bregman.

With the pair now off the market, however, MassLive's Chris Cotillo is of the opinion that the Red Sox might eventually pony up for a reunion with Alex Bregman.

"I think he's a guy that always made sense (for the Red Sox), and makes sense even more now with (Kyle) Schwarber and (Pete) Alonso off the board," Cotillo said. "They want to add power, that's very clear, but they do have holes in the infield. "I've talked to some people in the organization that say, 'Look, Bregman slowed down offensively when he came back from the injury a little early, but he won us games with his glove last year.' That's an underrated part of this, for a team that has struggled with infield defense for five or six years now. I think it might take a little while for them to come to terms on value."

Alex Bregman is projected to secure a deal in the range of $170 million.
