Two major AEW stars have suddenly revealed that they are going through a bit of a medical hitch, and they are no longer cleared to compete for the rest of the year. It is still unclear what their imminent future will be.
The Elite finally reunited at AEW Full Gear last month. The Young Bucks rejected the Don Callis Family's offer of money and power, and they instead chose to come to the aid of their long-time friend in Kenny Omega. They finally competed as a trio last week at AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash, taking down several members of the DCF.
Just moments ago, Lexy Nair was backstage with the trio, as they revealed that they had a medical update following their match together. Unfortunately, the Young Bucks revealed that they are not medically cleared and will be out of action for the rest of the year. The timing is not ideal, as they had just gotten to compete alongside Omega after more than a year.
They did not reveal the nature of their injuries or a specific timeline for their recovery. But this may end up being a short-term hiatus, seeing as they were around to make the announcement.
Kenny Omega then hinted at taking care of something he should have focused on some time ago. It seems like, for the time being, he will be flying solo. He has a bone to pick with several members of the Don Callis Family, such as Kazuchika Okada, Josh Alexander, and Kyle Fletcher, so this seems like the path he'll take.
With the Young Bucks not being around to support him, he could have help from Jurassic Express as they were his direct allies before The Elite reunited. This is nothing new, as Omega has been at war with the DCF for a couple of years now, and several stars on the AEW roster have come to his aid.
