Baker Mayfield has been an important player on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense this season. However, the team has struggled to secure wins on the gridiron in the past few games. Last Sunday, they suffered a 23-20 loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.
In the postgame press conference, cornerback Mike Jackson did not mince his words while talking about Baker Mayfield. He said that the quarterback tries to carry himself like Packers legend Brett Favre. Jackson also talked about his verbal exchanges with the Buccaneers quarterback throughout the game.
"Yeah, sometimes you got to show other people that you ain't scared of them either," Jackson said. "You all know this, I don't really talk trash. But it was just kind of like, he felt like maybe I was scared. I don't know what he thought.•

The Buccaneers' playoff hopes took a massive blow following this loss. They are in second place behind the Panthers in the NFC South with a 7-8 record and a three-game losing skid. Mayfield and his team have just one win in the last seven games after a strong start to the season.
Baker Mayfield remains confident about the Buccaneers' playoff chances
During Tuesday's press conference, the Buccaneers quarterback shared his honest thoughts about his team making the playoffs.
Baker Mayfield said that he is still confident that they can make the postseason despite a string of disappointing losses.
"It's a long season," Mayfield said. "Everything we want is still right in front of us, despite everything that's gone on. We can win out, make the playoffs, and still have our goals ahead of us. You have to endure the storm. It's the ups and downs of it, and that's just how it goes."Mayfield is currently playing under the three-year extension worth up to $100 million he signed in 2024. He's helped the team to the playoffs in the two seasons he's been with them. So far this year, the quarterback has tallied 3,144 yards and 23 TDs passing.
The Buccaneers next face the Dolphins on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
