The 2000s comedy series Malcolm in the Middle is making a long-awaited return with a four-episode revival titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. Set to premiere on April 10, 2026, the revival will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ for international audiences.

The original ensemble will reprise their roles in the dysfunctional family that engaged viewers for seven seasons. Nearly two decades after the original, the new series explores Hal, Lois, and their tumultuous lives with their grown children.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair follows an adult Malcolm who has torn himself off from his family for almost a decade. Malcolm lives quietly with his daughter and thinks he's escaped his upbringing's madness. He returns to family chaos when Hal and Lois invite him to his parents' 40th wedding anniversary dinner. Malcolm must now handle his and his adult children's difficulties.

Disney published a preview trailer showing the chaos ahead. Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair aims to maintain the original series' rapid-fire humor, amusing family conflicts, and ridiculous scenarios.

The latest teaser for Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair shows the first official look at the reunion of the beloved family. The video starts with an adult Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) saying that his life is "fantastic," because he has stayed away from his crazy family for years.

His calm doesn't last long because Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) won't accept no for their 40th anniversary party. This innocent request puts Malcolm back in the terrible familial setting onlookers recall.

Malcolm's daughter Leah (Keeley Karsten) tells him he can't hide from his family forever. Tristan (Kiana Madeira), Malcolm's girlfriend, and Kelly (Vaughan Murrae), his younger sibling, are added in the revival. Since Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey in the original series, isn't coming back for the reboot, the trailer doesn't have Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, the new Dewey, in it.
