BTS Taehyung surprised fans with an unannounced Weverse live on December 27, 2025. While reading live comments, he noticed a message from an Indian viewer. In response, he greeted them warmly and said,

“Namaste Indian Armys, see you next year.”

Soon after the stream ended, clips and screenshots began circulating widely online. As a result, Indian fans started linking the comment to BTS’ upcoming 2026 world tour. Although no tour locations were officially revealed, the remark intensified speculation around a possible India stop.

The conversation gained further traction after an Indian Tech and Infra account claimed BTS could perform in Mumbai. This discussion also resurfaced following the 2025 launch of HYBE INDIA in Mumbai. Alongside excitement, backlash emerged from some Indian users. Several comments mocked fans and questioned ticket spending priorities.

now gen z kids are gonna make their lower middle class families buy tickets to this cringefest just so they can post reels and stories on insta

However, ARMYs are pushed back, calling it "disgusting" and "jobless behaviour."

"This so disgusting and such a jobless behaviour what could possibly drive your hate for a simple music group that just wanna make music please find your god and seek peace in life," an X user commented.

Many are calling out familiar patterns of ridicule toward women’s interests.

Indian men in the comments showing their insecurities, they’ve always been like this, they don’t let a women have their interests and if a women is interested in something then they will make fun of it. Typical Indian men behaviour. Wonder why non indians hate Indians

Indian men in the Qrts should just shut tf up for once. No woman wants to hear you dogs whine about a artist coming to India. We don't say anything when you obsess over cricket players, but you HAVE to be misogynistic when it comes to women's interest.

Toxic indian men with their fragile masculinity trying to bully a women-dominated fandom, calling us childish and crazy?well you forgot those words define you better!

Fans also highlighted how male sports fandoms rarely face similar criticism. As debates continued, the moment shifted from a greeting to a broader online clash surrounding fandom culture and expectations for 2026.

In the comments section, they think ARMYs are childish. Do they forget they’re the same men who cry for Messi and even left their own weddings to see him? 😭 And “pick-me nibbi crying”? Please— you are pathetic and unemployed. Lets give u indian armys overview

Btw these are the same insecure mfs crying in the comment section. They will break their tv if their fav footballer or cricketer looses a single match and act like a manchild. But god forgive a woman for liking a boyband. And btw most of the women in our fandom are self independent

It's always the Indian Incel with Cricketer pfp who calls the Women names for simply having different opinion than them ...

More about BTS’ upcoming comeback

BTS reunited after finishing enlistment duties. The hiatus began in late 2022 when Jin entered service, and j-hope followed soon. By December 2023, the remaining members had also reported, placing group plans aside. Over the months, military discharges happened gradually. Finally, SUGA completed service on June 21st. Soon after, all seven appeared together on a Weverse livestream on July 1.

It was their first full-group broadcast since 2022. According to HYBE, the stream crossed 7.3 million live views worldwide. During the session, the members confirmed work on a new group album planned for spring 2026. While the exact day remains open, reports point toward late March.

At the same time, they shared plans to travel to the United States from July 2025 to create music together. Meanwhile, preparations for a 2026 world tour are also underway. This will be their first tour since 2022. Reports suggest the run could be their biggest yet, with heavy stops across North America and beyond.

The New York Times described BTS as "unimpeachable ambassadors" of K-pop, noting their musical "dedication." The article explained that while the group’s return to recording and touring will bring energy and revenue to the industry, their extraordinary influence is "essentially impossible to replicate."
