Luka Doncic is undoubtedly an offensive cheat code.

With the 6-foot-6 superstar’s ability to create stress-free scoring opportunities for his teammates and take over contests in crunch time, it’s safe to say the franchise is in good hands for the foreseeable future.

However, Doncic is a flawed player, and the five-time All-Star’s recent offseason decision indicates he’s working toward making the appropriate changes this summer.

“I have heard from folks that are pretty honest about the conditioning stuff that Luka has already begun a clean state, starting anew, is in this mindset of changing a lot about himself," NBA commentator Jason Gallagher said on The Dumb Zone podcast Tuesday.

"I've heard it before, but not from specific people that have been critical of him."

Regarding health and fitness, Doncic has ample work to complete to become a well-rounded asset for the Lake Show.

Whether giving half-behind effort on the defensive end or appearing exhausted quicker than usual, the former Dallas Mavericks phenom validates head coach JJ Redick’s recent ‘championship shape’ remark.

Still, Doncic’s contributions in the postseason were greatly appreciated by Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old pro averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists against the Minnesota Timberwolves, shooting 43.8% from the field and 37.9% from three-point land.

That said, the Lakers will struggle to win another championship if their skilled point guard frequently takes a lazy approach, putting his teammates at a disadvantage.

If Gallagher’s report holds merit, Doncic should enter the 2025-26 campaign with zero conditioning issues.
