The Miami Dolphins are in a predicament due to limited cap space and the large amount of money they are unable to spend as a result. The first step in solving this puzzle is attempting to trade Jalen Ramsey for the right package. However, a deal doesn’t seem close, largely because the Dolphins are unwilling to cover most of his hefty contract.
“The Dolphins appear unwilling to take on any of Jalen Ramsey’s guaranteed money to facilitate a trade. Teams are very interested in trading for Ramsey, but don’t want to take on his full contract. This is the current hold up,” Jeremy Fowler reported.
While that situation is being worked through, the Dolphins are also trying to move players whose large contracts restrict their flexibility. One name to watch is WR Tyreek Hill. Hill is a veteran with a Super Bowl ring, so some teams should show interest.
“The Dolphins must consider all of their options, as the 31-year-old has a $27.7 million cap hit this season and a staggering $51.9 million in 2026. They aren't keeping him at that number next year. They'll either renegotiate his contract or ship him elsewhere,” Brent Sobleski wrote.
This means that Hill is probably going to get dealt for cap space reasons. still has had a troubled offseason, both on and off the field. He’s faced off-field issues and undergone two wrist surgeries.
“Vaccaro stated that Tyreek is very aggressive and impulsive and that has anger issues and she is afraid for her daughter," the report stated. "When she saw Tyreek arguing and throwing her daughter's computer to the floor and later grabbing her granddaughter and start walking with her in his arms towards the balcony of their 35th floor residence she called police.”

The Dolphins are expected to seek out potential suitors for Hill. This move stems both from the contract burden and Hill’s troubling behavior during the offseason.
