"Looks Like User Error”: Sabrina Ionescu Delivers Cold-Blooded Response to Critic Who Trashed Her Nike Shoes

New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu has established herself as one of the leading figures in women's sports and the sneakers business. She delivered a cold-blooded response to a critic who trashed her Nike Sabrina 3 shoe.

The fan on TikTok tagged the kicks the “worst Nike basketball shoe ever.” Ionescu responded in the comments section of the post.

“Looks like user error.”

Sabrina Ionescu signed a multi-year endorsement footwear deal with Nike in 2020. Her signature basketball-shoe line launched in 2023 with the Sabrina 1, followed by the Sabrina 2 (2024) and the Sabrina 3 (July 2025).

"I know every single basketball player who puts on the Sabrina 3 will continue to see and feel the work that we’ve put in to create the best performance shoe that we can," Ionescu said. "This shoe represents so much of me, from the vertical Swoosh that we’ve had since the Sabrina 1 to the design touches personal to me. I hope it inspires all hoopers, especially young girls, helping them continue to break down barriers and believe in themselves."

The Sabrina 3 sneakers can be purchased on Nike’s online store as well as select retail locations. It is available for $135 in adult sizes and $100 in big kids' sizes.

Sabrina Ionescu invests in soccer team

Sabrina Ionescu invested in the NWSL club Bay FC. According to the report, she also joined the club as an official commercial advisor. As a commercial advisor, she will help the organization with commercial and marketing strategies.

"I wholeheartedly understand how important investment really is and obviously you can talk about it and be about it, but you really have to want to be committed to it and invest to be able to see what you believe in come to light," Ionescu told ESPN.

Last season Ionescu and the Liberty saw their title defense end at the hands of the Phoenix Mercury. She finished the season with averages of 18.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.
