Latest A.J. Brown trade rumor amounts to huge news for Patriots, Raiders, Chiefs

Trade rumors surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown continue to spiral, and the latest update from ESPN's Adam Schefter is a massive development for potentially interested teams.

Schefter believes Brown will eventually get traded this offseason because that's what the star wideout wants.

"I would still lean towards an A.J. Brown trade because that's what I think he prefers," Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. "There has to be a team out there that is willing to make it happen, but that hasn't been the case.... The picks don't have to be from this draft."

A Brown trade is unlikely to happen before June 1, as Philadelphia would eat a dead cap charge of $43 million if they move him before the start of June, as opposed to a $16 million dead cap after.

However, it's looking more and more likely that the Eagles will trade Brown before the start of the 2026 season, and that's great news for the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, and Kansas City Chiefs.

New England has been connected to Brown ever since they released Stefon Diggs. Adding Brown would give quarterback Drake Maye a bona fide No. 1 receiver.

We also can't count out Las Vegas in the possible Brown sweepstakes. The Raiders need to acquire a true top receiver for presumed No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza, and Brown would fit that mold.

Kansas City added a bunch of draft capital from the Los Angeles Rams in the Trent McDuffie trade, and they could use some of those resources in a trade for Brown to upgrade Patrick Mahomes' receiver room.

Brown's future in Philadelphia has never been more uncertain, and though a trade won't happen anytime soon, it wouldn't be shocking to see the multiple-time Pro Bowl receiver in a new uniform in 2026.
