An explosive fourth quarter pushed the Los Angeles Lakers past the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.
Luka Doncic and the Lakers rallied for a 124-116 road victory that saw them run their winning streak to seven in a row. Los Angeles (44-25) has consolidated its position as the three-seed in the Western Conference, and the purple and gold might be peaking at the right time despite some season-long deficiencies on the defensive end.

Doncic had another night to remember at the Toyota Center. The MVP candidate dropped a game-high 40 points and 10 assists, and his dagger 3-pointer with 58.4 seconds remaining prompted him to dish out some trash talk to Rockets fans.
"Eat f—ing s—," Doncic yelled. "I do this s—."
Profanities notwithstanding, Doncic isn't wrong about that. He's the NBA's leading scorer at 33.0 points per game, and he has scored at least 40 points in three of his past seven games.
Doncic may rub fans the wrong way with his complaining toward referees and his occasional inattention on defense. But with the ball in his hands, he singlehandedly raises a fun but flawed Lakers team's ceiling.
