Knicks urged to trade 7-foot center for bizarre reason

Most of the time, individuals who are passionate about a particular NBA franchise will suggest trading a player if he isn’t performing up to the franchise’s standards.

However, on Thursday, several New York Knicks fans urged the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals participants to trade their backup 7-foot center for a reason unrelated to his production on the hardwood.

Essentially, Mitchell Robinson riled up the Knicks’ fanbase after taking issue with his teammates’ commitment to listening to rapper DMX and refusal to give Morgan Wallen, a country singer, a chance in the locker room.

“Morgan Wallen…Knicks gotta trade him to Utah (Jazz),” one fan wrote under NBACentral’s viral post about Robinson’s music taste.

“Get this guy off my New York Knicks,” another fan stated.” I’d gladly take Ja Morant over him any day.”

Luckily for Robinson, the only two things the Knicks care about are his health/availability and his continued dominance on the offensive glass, allowing him to enjoy his music in peace.

The former second-round pick missed several games to start the 2025-26 season due to an ankle injury, but has played his role relatively well since rejoining the Knicks on Oct. 31.

Robinson is averaging 3.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, shooting 60.9% from the field in eight outings.

The Mike Brown-led Knicks will need Robinson to play consistent basketball in the low post all year long if they want to go the distance.
