Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson a full participant in practice on Thursday

The New York Knicks could see the return of one of their most important pieces sooner rather than later.

On Thursday, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported that Mitchell Robinson, who had missed the team’s first four games of the season due to load management, was a full participant in practice on Thursday.

Robinson traveled with the Knicks during their three-game road trip with the hopes that he’d be able to suit up eventually, and it looks like he is on track to do so on Friday against the Chicago Bulls

Robinson last played on Oct. 9 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the preseason. He then missed the remainder of the preseason, and the Knicks’ first four regular season games due to “load management” for Robinson’s ankle injury that has hindered him over the last year and some change.

When on the court, Robinson is one of the best rim protectors and offensive rebounders in the NBA. His return will likely push one of Ariel Hukporti, or Guerschon Yabusele further down the depth chart, and should help give the Knicks a jolt at a time where they need it early in the season.
