Kevin Durant and Steph Curry soon to join LeBron James in $1 billion earnings
LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are three of the most iconic basketball figures in the sport in the past few decades. They have been competing with each other on the court on an elite level for over a decade now. However, the Lakers superstar had surpassed his peers in the earnings department.
In 2021, James became the first active NBA player to have crossed the $1 billion mark in career earnings, including endorsement deals and off-court business ventures. However, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant will soon catch up to their on-court rival.
According to Sportico’s Kurt Badenhausen, Curry and Durant's on-court salaries and off-court ventures have pushed both players closer to the $1 billion mark. According to Spotrac, the Warriors star is set to earn $62,587,158 next season. He will become an unrestricted free agent in the 2027-28 season.
Durant, on the other hand, is set to earn $43,902,439 in the 2026-27 season and $46,097,561 in the 2027-28 season, as per Spotrac. He has a player option in his contract for the 27-28 season, which, if he denies, makes him an unrestricted free agent in the 2028-29 season.
