The NFL trade deadline is heating up, as there have been a plethora of major moves on Tuesday that will have resounding impacts on the league.
The New York Jets have completely blown up the deadline with their fire sale. The team started by trading away cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts, and followed that up by trading defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. However, the Jets may not be done yet.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, running back Breece Hall has requested a trade out of New York. Hall has been involved in trade rumors for weeks, and with the Iowa State product set to hit free agency in the spring and the Jets sitting at 1-7, this isn't particularly shocking.
"BREAKING: Jets RB Breece Hall wants to be traded, I’m told," Schultz said on X. "A little over one hour until the deadline, but Breece wants to be out.”
The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs make the most sense as possible landing spots for Hall, who has tallied 581 rushing yards and two touchdowns on five yards per carry this season.
Los Angeles has been relying on Kimani Vidal as the lead back with Omarion Hampton on injured reserve and Najee Harris out for the season. Though Vidal hasn't been awful, Hall would definitely be an upgrade and take a lot of pressure off quarterback Justin Herbert's shoulder.
Kansas City's running game with Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt has been nonexistent in 2025. Adding Hall would take Andy Reid's offense to the next level and give quarterback Patrick Mahomes another dynamic weapon.
We'll see if the Jets decide to respect Hall's wishes and send him to a new squad. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, New York is seeking a third-round pick for the 24-year-old running back. It's hard to see a team giving up a Day 2 pick for Hall, but crazier things have happened on Tuesday.
