Jacksonville pounces at the trade deadline, adding major help to receiving corps with Raiders star

The Jaguars are trying to stay competitive going into the second half of the season, and they may have fixed a problem with the quality trade. And it was with someone Jacksonville just played.

The Raiders and the Jaguars have agreed on a deal involving wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. Adam Schefter, who first reported the news, said:

“ESPN sources: Raiders are trading WR Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks.

Multiple teams, including the Steelers and Jaguars, had shown interest in Meyers, who is scheduled to become a free agent after his contract expires this season.”

This is a real win for the Jaguars and a loss for anyone else who was looking at him. Meyers is one of the best ball catchers in the league only dropping the ball only four times in three years with the Raiders.

Ian Rapoport would go on to update about Travis Hunter, who said:

“Travis Hunter is not expected to be out long-term for the #Jaguars, though he is out at least 3 more games. He'll be back to contribute in the pass game, as well.”

For this offense, trying to compete with the Colts in their division, this was a smart move. Now, the Jags offense may become more consistent.
