WWE's William Regal took to Twitter over the weekend to urge the younger stars of today to take care of their necks, and a few other Superstars and wrestlers have followed suit. Today, multi-time Tag Champion Ivar joined in, hoping to lessen the amount of spinal trauma in the coming years.

Yesterday, Regal shared an X-ray image of his neck, showing off the hardware that was inserted while attempting to convince wrestlers to take it easy on the neck bumps. Stars like AEW's Kyle Fletcher and WWE RAW's Bron Breakker took some horrific drops on their heads and necks, which seems to have forced Regal's hand on the topic.

Now, other pro wrestlers are jumping into the conversation. Piper Niven joined in last night. Now, another former Tag Champion has joined the cause. Ivar took to X to share his struggles and a few X-rays from his double fusion back in 2020. Ivar also nearly underwent another neck operation back in 2024, but narrowly avoided that surgery.

"Life altering. There was a before and an after. Man, I wish I could remember the before," said Ivar.

Ivar's wrestling career was put on hold due to his neck problems, nearly ending his career in 2024.

WWE's Ivar has a history of neck trauma

Back on September 7, 2020, Ivar and Erik competed in an eight-man tag team match. During the bout, Ivar hit a suicide dive onto the Hurt Business, a move he'd done countless times. Sadly, Ivar seriously injured his neck and required a double fusion. WWE announced the injury that day, and Ivar responded to the outpouring of love and prayers he received immediately after the injury occurred.

"From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to every single friend, family and fan who has reached out to me. My heart is truly touched from all the love and support. Still figuring it all out but I am working hard to recover and be better than ever! Love you all," said Ivar.

Ivar suffered another career-threatening neck injury in 2024. While it didn't require surgery, it's affected him long-term, and he teased that his current WWE run could be his last.
