Anthony Davis suffered another injury as he exited the game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. The team labelled it as a left lower leg soreness, following an awkward landing during the first quarter of the game.
Before the matchup, Davis was listed with a bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. In his seven minutes on the court, Davis had four points and four rebounds.
With Davis' latest injury setback, Mavericks fans' frustrations grew even more as they went to X to express their displeasure with the 10-time All-Star's injury woes.

Dallas fans reacted to a months-old report from ESPN's Shams Charania, in which he suggested that Davis would still fetch four to five first-round picks if he ever gets traded.

Fans do not believe this is still true, considering his injury history.
@MavsFilmRoom I would honestly be shocked if we were able to get two frps lol. I feel like the absolute most we would get for AD is a top 25-30 player, and one frp, with maybe a couple 2nds in there. If Luka was put up for auction now, he would get 6 or 7 frps.
@MavsFilmRoom It was never true lmao. He has the worst bell curve in performance out of any star in the last 25 years, and he misses tons of games every year.
@MavsFilmRoom No one is giving 4, 1st Round Picks for Davis No one
Meanwhile, other fans said that they will trade Davis for such picks in a heartbeat, especially now that his setbacks continue.
@MavsFilmRoom I would do it today. No disrespect to AD.
@MavsFilmRoom please do it mavs better 5 picks then AD
@MavsFilmRoom Put him on the market as soon as possible.
Davis came to Dallas last February after a shocking trade that brought the Mavericks' former franchise superstar Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers.
In his five games so far this season, Davis averaged 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game as the Mavericks won two of their first five games.
Aside from Davis, the Mavericks have been leaning on rookie Cooper Flagg, who has struggled to start his NBA career. The team is still awaiting the return of Kyrie Irving, who suffered a torn ACL late last season.
Anthony Davis declares mentality during injury setbacks before the season starts
Anthony Davis saw numerous injuries hamper his NBA career, but he remained unwavering. According to him, he continues to be resolute because of his "bounce-back" mentality.
“Bounce back. That’s the mentality," he said before the 2025-2026 NBA season started. "The more we try to feel sorry for ourselves or dwell on this hurt or an injury, it does nothing but slow us down."He also stated that he felt great entering the regular season, following his first summer with the Mavericks.
“I feel great,” Davis said. “Had a little hiccup in the training with the eye and stuff like that. But I’m healthy and ready to go.”According to Dallas' injury report, Davis is day-to-day from here on as they look to manage his injury to start the season.
