is LeBron James playing for Lakers tonight vs. Spurs?

LeBron James hasn’t had the opportunity to contribute with the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

The four-time NBA champion has been dealing with sciatica since mid-October, which explains his extended absence.

Unsurprisingly, James is on Los Angeles’ injury report again before the franchise’s Wednesday night contest against the San Antonio Spurs.

James is set to miss his ninth consecutive contest with sciatica, an injury that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Sciatica causes weakness, tingling, and numbness in an individual’s back, leg, and hip.

Pushing through the injury could result in a more significant setback that could spell doom for James and the Lakers, which both parties are clearly taking into account.

Luckily, the Lakers have two other superstars who can help the organization remain in contention. Whether sharing the floor or taking turns operating as the star of the show, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves have done a phenomenal job of stepping up for Los Angeles at the right time.

Doncic is averaging 41.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game, while Reaves is contributing 31.1 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per contest.

With James reportedly aiming for a mid-November return, the Lakers should feel encouraged about their chances of enjoying a meaningful 2025-26 campaign.
