WWE Royal Rumble is among the most anticipated premium live events of the year. As the Stamford-based promotion gears up for the first Royal Rumble outside North America, a recent report suggests that a popular star who got injured earlier this year could be back in action for the PLE slated to air live from Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31, 2026.

According to BodySlam, WWE is 'hopeful' that RAW star Penta will be ready to make his return at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The luchador got physical with Dominik Mysterio at AAA Guerra De Titanes. It was further reported that the global juggernaut would not have let him get involved if the officials did not think he could make his return soon.

For those unaware, Penta sustained a shoulder injury on the November 24 edition of Monday Night RAW. During his quarterfinal bout of The Last Time Is Now Tournament against Solo Sikoa, the 40-year-old landed awkwardly on his shoulder while attempting a hurricanrana on the outside. The referee stopped the match, and The MFT leader was declared the winner.

Before he got injured, Penta was scheduled to team up with his real-life brother Rey Fenix and compete against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano at AAA Guerra De Titanes. WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio replaced Penta for the tag team match. However, the Mexican star showed up at the event to help his brother and The Master of the 619 to secure the win.

Popular WWE Superstar spoke about her match with Penta

WWE Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green wrestled Penta in Lucha Underground in 2018. She competed under the ring name Reklusa during that time.

During a recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, The Hot Mess explained why wrestling Penta was the best decision she ever made. Green further praised the Mexican luchador while staying in character.

"The best decision I ever made was that match. Because now, when someone says I suck at wrestling, someone else says, 'But did you see the Penta match?’ And I'm like, 'Yeah, yeah, that one match in 2018. He literally wrestled himself. Watch it again. He literally wrestled himself.' But I digress. He is amazing, and so am I," Green said. [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]

Penta is among the most beloved stars on the red brand. However, he has yet to win a championship since his arrival in WWE. It will be interesting to see if he can finally get his hands on a title in 2026.
