A legendary WWE Superstar recently lashed out on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He addressed John Cena's retirement tour. The name in question is none other than The Miz.

Since John Cena announced his retirement tour, The Miz was one of the first people to express their desire to face the GOAT. The A-Lister and The Cenation Leader have a rich history in World Wrestling Entertainment, and Miz explained that he only needed closure on their legendary rivalry. However, despite calling out the Triple H-led creative team in multiple interviews, the former WWE Champion never got the opportunity to face Cena in 2025.

On this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Miz lashed out at the management once again. The legendary 21-time champion highlighted that he was angry that he didn't have his moment with John Cena on the latter's retirement tour despite asking for it.

He added that he believed he should have been the one to tap Cena out in his final match. For those unaware, John locked horns with Gunther in his last match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, which ended after The Ring General made Cena tap out.

"I asked for one match, one moment with John Cena's retirement tour. Not for nostalgia or [to] be enduring but for obligation because our story needed closure. I should've been the one to tap John Cena out. Instead, he's off smiling, riding in the sunset, and I'm stuck here in Buffalo," he said.

Many fans believe The Miz should be booked better in future matches as he has become somewhat of a 'jobber' in recent times. The A-Lister is one of the most decorated stars on the current roster. It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for his future in WWE.
