How to get Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A was part of the game's Pokedex from release, but it is available to catch and use in battles starting Thursday, November 6, 2025. The Gen VI Mythical must be obtained by completing a side mission, which in-turn must be unlocked via an in-game event.

Follow these steps to get Diancie in the game:

• Claim the Legends Z-A Mystery Gift containing Diancite..
• Complete Side Mission EX 1: Shine Bright Like a Gemstone.
• Fight Diancie and catch it.

How to complete Side Mission EX 1: Shine Bright Like a Gemstone

After you claim the Diancite via Mystery Gift, head to the Looker Bureau and speak to Mimi to start the mission.

Mimi's Espurr will notice the presence of the Diancite in your bag and run out, making you and Mimi follow it. You will be led to Autumnal Avenue, where you must make your way to Quasartico Inc. After a cutscene, you must go to Mafenta Pokemon Center.

Nearby, you will notice a Holovator, which will take you to the building's roof. Jump across the roofs, as per directions, until you reach the highest building. Once there, you will see Diancie along with two Carbink.

You must challenge them to a battle before you can catch Diancie.

Tips to catch Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Keep the following things as you try to capture Diancie:

• It is a Rock- and Fairy-type Pocket Monster. So a Steel-type like Lucario or Metagross is best-suited against it in battle.
• Being a Mythical, Diancie will have a relatively low catch rate. Lowering its HP and inflicting it with a status condition like burn, paralysis, or sleep will increase your chance of capturing it.
• Use a powerful Poke Ball, such as Ultra Ball, or condition specific Ball, such as the Dream Ball if it is asleep, for best results.

Catching Diancie will put an end to Side Mission EX 1: Shine Bright Like a Gemstone, and give you 10,000 PokeDollars and one Exp. Candy XL as a reward.
