Kiffin made a grand entrance at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and was welcomed with thunderous applause, as he held hands with the Lady Tigers' basketball coach, Kim Mulkey, while walking out to the arena.

"He looks miserable," another added. "Why are they holding hands like a couple," a third commented.

Here are a few more reactions.

"Kiffin showing he’s a *clown emoji* lmao," one wrote. "Name a more cringe duo," another added. "2 toxic individuals," a user tweeted.

Mulkey, who won the national title with LSU in 2023, thanked Kiffin for taking the time to attend the school's basketball game.

“He was very gracious to come over here and let the LSU fans acknowledge him,” Mulkey said. “They have the (transfer) portal opening tomorrow, so I know he’s working. I appreciated him coming.”

Unfortunately for Mulkey's Tigers, Kiffin’s presence wasn't enough to lead them to a win. LSU ended up suffering an 80-78 loss to Kentucky, which was its first defeat of the season.

Although Lane Kiffin left the Ole Miss coaching job in November to take up the vacancy at LSU, he is still receiving a big payday for his former team's run in the College Football Playoff.

On Thursday, the Rebels beat the Georgia Bulldogs 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl to book a spot in the CFP semifinals. With the Rebels' win, former Ole Miss coach Kiffin earned $500,000 in total as bonuses as part of the deal.

Kiffin was not allowed to coach Ole Miss in the playoffs despite leading the team to the historic achievement. However, his bonus could climb upto $1 million if the Rebels win the national title.
