Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets opened a two-game road trek in Brooklyn on Thursday. Late in the second quarter against the Nets, the former MVP jostled with Nic Claxton in the paint for a potential rebound. KD won the positioning battle but could not catch the ball after Danny Wolf badly missed a 3-point attempt.

Durant was smacked in the face after the ball bounced off the backboard. He mouthed this after the Nets got another possession:

“Trash a** miss, Wolf.”

This season, Wolf is shooting 36.7% from deep. However, his efficiency dropped in December, averaging 33.3% from that 3-point distance. He opened the New Year with a 1-for-4 clip from behind the arc, including a miss that caught Durant off guard.

Wolf wasn’t the only Net to consistently miss from behind the arc. Brooklyn went 10-for-30 (33%) from that distance while Kevin Durant and Co. finished with a 12-for-29 (41%) clip.

For the season, the Nets are shooting 34.6%, tied with the LA Lakers for 25th in the NBA. Durant and his teammates are making 40.0% of their 3-point shots, second in the league.
