Max Verstappen featured prominently in a set of New Year's Eve pictures shared by his partner Kelly Piquet, offering fans a glimpse into the family’s celebrations as 2026 approached. The images were posted on Piquet’s Instagram stories and also featured her two daughters, Penelope Kvyat and Lily Verstappen.
Piquet has been in a relationship with Max Verstappen since 2020, with the pair becoming one of the most recognisable couples in the F1 paddock. Before that, Piquet dated former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she shares a daughter, Penelope, born in 2019.
Lily Verstappen, born in May 2025, is Piquet’s second daughter and first with Verstappen. Since her birth, the couple has made a conscious effort to protect her privacy, obscuring her face in photos shared online.
The family celebrated New Year's Eve together, as shared by Piquet on Instagram. The first picture showed the whole family posing for a photo together, with the faces of Penelope and Lily hidden. The family appeared to be in a relaxed outdoor setting to commemorate the new year.

She also shared a video of a fireworks display, marking the end of 2025.
These family moments come at the end of a dramatic F1 season for Verstappen. Piquet and Penelope were present at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2025, where Verstappen narrowly missed out on the drivers’ championship by just two points to McLaren’s Lando Norris. However, the 4x world champion remained in high spirits after the season, choosing to focus on his remarkable second half comeback rather than missed opportunities early on.

This marked the first time that a driver who did not win the world championship has been voted as the best driver of the season since this ranking began in 2018. The 28-year-old, who was also voted as the best driver of 2025 by team principals, finished second in the standings by just two points and claimed the most race wins and pole positions in 2025.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri ranked fourth in the standings, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was fifth. Spanish pair Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso were voted as the sixth and seventh best drivers of the season, respectively, while Alex Albon was eighth. Rookies Ollie Bearman and Isack Hadjar were ranked ninth and tenth best drivers of the year after stellar debut seasons for both.
