UFC welterweight Colby Covington recently shared his thoughts on the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight and ripped the former Disney star for his performance.
Paul and Joshua threw down in a professional boxing match last weekend at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Given Joshua's considerable size and experience advantage over Paul, it's no surprise that the former world heavyweight champion pushed 'The Problem Child' to his limits before securing a thunderous sixth-round knockout victory.
In a recent video posted to his YouTube channel, Covington shared his reaction to the fight and ripped Paul for his performance. The UFC welterweight said:
"Well, that one wasn't scripted, and if it was, Anthony Joshua never got the script. This fight reminded me of the episode of 'Jackass' where Johnny Knoxville had a boxing match with Butterbean in the department store. People tuned in to see if Jake was dumb enough to actually go through with getting mangled by a heavyweight boxer, and just like Johnny Knoxville, Jake delivered in embarrassing 'Jackass' fashion. Jake didn't prove he was really tough or a real boxer, he just proved he's really stupid."Get the latest updates on One Championship Rankings at Sportskeeda and more
Urging Paul to give up boxing, he added:
"Can't believe people actually bet on a Disney Channel kid to beat an Olympic gold medalist and world heavyweight champion. That whole show was an embarrassment... Hang the gloves up, Jake. There's no shortcuts or anything they can ever inject you with that will make you a real fighter. Go sell deodorant to broccoli-headed teenagers or whatever it is that you do. Leave the fighting to the professionals." [H/t: MMA Junkie]Check out Colby Covington's full video below:
Logan Paul believes Jake Paul won four rounds against Anthony Joshua
While most fight fans saw Anthony Joshua dominate Jake Paul in the ring, Logan Paul believes his brother outpointed the Englishman for four rounds and exceeded expectations.
In an interview with Fight Hub TV, 'The Maverick' lauded his younger sibling's "toughness" and said:
"I view that as a victory on all fronts... Bro, no one expected him to last four rounds with 'AJ'. In my opinion, he won four of them. People will argue that he at least won three. No one expected him to last that long. Rolled his ankle, broke his jaw, still f**king fighting, man. That's toughness."Why did you not like this content?
