John Cena's in-ring career ended at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, and The Franchise Player has vowed never to return as a performer. Meanwhile, Hornswoggle compared Cena's retirement to that of three Hall of Famers and discussed its impact.

John Cena's retirement was announced over a year in advance, but the reality set in when The Leader of the Cenation left his ring gear and merchandise in the middle of the ring following his match with Gunther in Washington. Moreover, Cena's retirement had a profound impact across the world due to his immense contribution.

Speaking on WrestlingNewsCo's Velvet Ropes, WWE legend Hornswoggle discussed the impact of John Cena's retirement from in-ring competition and compared that with the retirements of Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair, as these legends returned and didn't have the same amount of impact as John Cena's final match did across the industry.

"[Steve] Austin being done didn't hit as hard. [Ric] Flair being done didn't hit as hard. Shawn Michaels being done didn't hit [as hard], and I think that's culture-wide in wrestling... I cannot put a finger on why this one [John Cena] is hitting the wrestling community so big, and I think it truly is because John Cena is the greatest human ever," Swoggle said.

Major WWE name also addressed the impact of John Cena's retirement

John Cena touched several lives outside the Stamford-based promotion through Make-a-Wish and was part of several iconic moments in the industry as a full-time in-ring performer. While the 17-time WWE World Champion is done with professional wrestling, Seth Rollins believes the company's future looks sad without him.

"You know, John's the kind of guy that's like, ‘I wanted to go to all these places that I've been for 20-plus years and give the fans one more opportunity to interact with me and to see me perform.’ And so I don't know that we'll ever get that again. And it was a very special year. It'll be very sad to see what the WWE looks like with no John Cena for the foreseeable future," Rollins said. [H/T - Fox News]

It'll be interesting to see when John Cena will make another appearance for the company.
